750+ in the portal on day one. 300 last year was the record.

Lots of self overvaluing going on.

There’s a long term impact. Now the good majority of the money chasers end up with no offer and out of a free ride for many a life changing education.

At some point, it will be the universities’ fault and lawsuits will abound. Over a system the players wanted.

If you take out Duke, Michigan State, and Purdue there are only 14 players out of 13 schools that started there so an average of only one per school. Absolutely disgusting what has happened.

Lavergne transferred to Purdue Fort Wayne after a year at Lee College.
He redshirted at Purdue Fort Wayne this past season. I do not know why he redshirted. The following is his bio found on the Purdue Fort Wayne website.

2023-24 (at Lee College): Guided the Navigators to a NJCAA Division I National Tournament berth ... Averaged 13.6 points, 2.9 rebounds and 3.0 assists ... Earned an All-American nod as well as all-region and all-conference honors.

Prep: Won four state championships with North Central High School ... As a senior, Louisiana 1A Player of the Year ... District MVP and named All-State as a senior year ... In the championship game of his senior year, recorded 23 points, 11 rebounds and the game winning block ... Won most Outstanding Player of the Game Award for performance in title game ... Holds school's record with 64 points in a game ... Majoring in Business.
