I dont want to hear, "We are young and inexperienced". I expect those coming into the game to be Ready to Play and DO the JOB. Thats what recruiting does.
The one thing I do believe is the NIL is a major factor in recruiting whoas for all Mid-Majors. The one thing I believe we have going for us is OUR STADIUM AND THIS UNIVERSITY AND ITS COLLEGE LIFE.
I only hope this team plays to its fullest like we HAVE BEEN TOLD. I am tired of being told every year, THIS TEAM IS GONNA BE GOOD. Well, right now we could finish last in the SUNBELT.
    GEAUX CAJUNS
Well, we did have great pre season hype videos. Time to live up to the hype.

Focusing in on a small portion of sf21’s excellent post, does anyone else find it particularly odd that the guys on this current coaching staff seem to be infatuated with high velocity, “stuff” pitchers? Gunner wasn’t that guy in college. He just knew how to pitch. He could hit his spot with almost any pitch in his mix in any count. Deggs has always seemed like the type of guy who wants players who can do a job rather than being obsessed talents. Why this philosophy now? A guy like Hermann is a bit to the other extreme (he’s throwing fastballs in the high 70s lately), but when the alternative is guys like Dilhoff who have “stuff” but can’t throw a strike to save their lives, give me a PITCHER any day of the week.

Only two teams in the country have more errors than the Cajuns let that sink in. Walks errors can’t hit other than that we are good

I imagine they tried to recruit different styles of pitcher. With a Dilhoff the hope is that he has the raw material and maybe we can help him hone it. Example is Reagan Bazaar. Then you get a guy like Hermann and Theut who can just pitch. You can also get young guys who can pitch well with the potential to get stronger and develop more velocity and better "stuff" (like Tate Hess).

Finding a Gunner Leger is tough. In fact, if Gunner was throwing 93 coming out of high school he has his pick of the top colleges and likely goes in the draft. The fact that he wasn't overpowering was why we had the opportunity to pick him up. And at the same time as we are adding a Gunner, we are adding a Hogan Harris and Nick Lee who were more on the Dilhoff side of the spectrum.

There is nothing fun about watching this baseball team play. Pitching sucks. Hitting sucks. And most importantly COACHING SUCKS. What’s the point of going to the ballpark to have fun watching the game you love when all it does is depress you?

This all started with hype that was ridiculous. Videos put out quotes about how good this team is. They were going through boot camp like seal training hoo rah being said. How about fielding ground balls. How about stop recruiting guys that have velo and spin rate and recruit guys that can pitch. I don’t care how hard you throw ball four. What happened to the Andy Gros of the world winners who can change speeds and hit spots. I’ll take a guy throwing 85 who can pitch.

When the ball hits inside the glove of the fielder, just close your hand and control it
