Then how? How does a conference game withIN a conference impact ranking vs. any other conference? Conference gets one win and one loss for every conference game - just like every other conference. How does that .50 winning percentage for the conference as a whole (for conference games) impact ranking vs. any other conference? Doesn't seem like it should and I'm pretty sure it doesn't.

Because this isn’t based strictly on winning percentage, and not all wins and losses are equal. It would take someone much smarter than me to explain it. I don’t start worrying about RPI until GG shows up.

Good conferences bring up all RPI. Bad conferences peak in RPI during non conference. Perfect example is UTRGV. There is no way they end up anywhere close to that RPI. All Southland RPIs will fall from here and therefore, their conference RPI will fall.

Every non conference team played..by every team in the conference still has 40 games each left on their schedule to effect Their RPI and their opponents RPI. Throughout the season all of your opponents and their opponents affect your RPI…every time they play regardless of who it’s against. Which is why you can move up or down without playing.

That was one ugly game. I’m glad not many were there to watch it. Speaking of watching the game for those in attendance, how do people sit for over 3 hours and then leave in the bottom of the 8th? Don’t they know it’s a 9 inning game? Especially sitting through that chilly night.

Wife and I left in the 8th inning Sunday. I just simply had enough at that point. Probaby should have left earlier. Listened to the rest of the game on the radio walking back to our vehicle and the ride home.

Fair point. But the major variable in conference rank is NCWP....

Compare the SBC NC record this year to last... BIG difference.

SBC NC record is worse this year than it has been. This will have some impact on conference RPI rank. SBC probably won't finish #9. I also doubt SBC finishes #5 or even #6. We'll see.

Take our schedule as an average, we have 9 midweeks left. Thats 126 OOC games left for the conference. Many of those against SEC and ACC teams. Still plenty of time and all kinds of number that have to work themselves out. The SBC as a whole is also getting better/tougher OOC games because we are not a drain on RPI. Prime example is this is the toughest OOC schedule we have had in a really long time, i cant even think of another.
