  1. Default Re: Predicting UL basketball's next head coach is much easier than predicting next roster

Cut and paste, or summarize please.

"All signs point to Houston associate head coach Quannas White being UL’s next head coach.

The 44-year-old White is from New Orleans, was an AAU coach for eight years in the state to gain big recruiting ties and has worked with Kelvin Sampson at one of the nation’s top programs over the past eight seasons in Houston."

He’s probably as good a hire as possible. I hope the rumors are accurate.

Would love Quannas coming home. He's been working the AAU and college ranks since he was living in B.R. back in 2009.

As a Cougar fan I am sad to see Quanas leave as he has been a huge part of the programs success over the last 8 years. The best Houston message board is actually run by a guy who grew up across the street from rabideauxs in Iowa, Louisiana. He commented about a week ago that thought it was a no brainer for both Quanas and the Cajuns. He is considered a great recruiter and a great technician in teaching guard play. He was the starting point guard for Sampson at Oklahoma on a final four team. The players seem to really respect that. He worked his way up as a player from juco and seems to have the same work ethic as a coach. I really think he will put together a product that you will be proud of. With the portal and his reputation I think the Cajuns will be competitive quickly.

Houston attacks basket with zeal. Their main offensive advantage is how hard they hit the glass for missed shots. They do take some 3’s of course. Cougars will open play in the Big 12 tournament come Thursday. This talk may be premature as nothing is official yet. However Kevin Foote would not have said all signs point to White without some confidence he has at least been offered.

I think if they announce this soon, we’d have a good chance to keep our better players.

Heard it happened - but money became a factor and possibly ended the deal

How about Brent Pry? A sure lock?
