LOUISIANA La. -- No complaints about playing time were heard from members of the University of Louisiana men's basketball team Thursday night.
With only nine players available, opportunity was never in question as ULL won its season-opening exhibition at the Cajundome 94-69 over Delta State.
Five Cajuns played 29 minutes or more as ULL took control over the Division II Statesmen late in the first half.
ULL's women team lost its initial preseason exhibition, as the Lady Cajuns fell to Everyone's Internet 63-54 in a contest that preceded the men's game.
Five of Cajuns' men's team players were on the court for the first time, as ULL competed without at least three players who are waiting to become eligible.
"It's a new team this year and right now we're waiting for the other pieces of the puzzle," said junior transfer forward Brian Hamilton, who scored 14 points in 29 minutes.
Hamilton, who also played along the perimeter, had seven rebounds to complement the 49 combined points from seniors Brad Boyd and Laurie Bridges.
