40% 3 point shooters are rare. Out of the 3,600 plus D-1 players, there are 50.

Statistical evidence shows that shooting 3's at less than 38% results in lower scoring totals than shooting 2's at 50%. I am not suggesting completely eliminating the 3 ball from the game; just being much more selective with which 3's are attempted, and running offensive sets and plays that are not specifically designed to shoot 3's.

VObserver is describing Houston Cougar type players in that post.

That is something I’d like to see with the new coach. Big, physical and strong guards. And obviously the inside game needs a boost. We were physically outmatched in every game we played this year minus the UT Dallas game. And even then we weren’t dominant. I look forward to having a physically imposing team soon.
Who would we match up well against??

FWIW, ODU on a 3 game run so far in SBC tournament. 3 to go.

Well you don't have to worry about Mo shooting 3's. He refuses. I wonder if he would make some of the sometimes. He has a smooth mid range jumper.

Mo improved his mid range jumper as season progressed. I don’t think he made 20 shots all season beyond 10 feet

Just for S&Gs, I checked to see if anyone hit the portal yet. All good.

The mid range game is becoming a forgotten art but it will be important in the NCAA tournament just like it becomes much more important in the NBA playoffs
