Not necessarily. At very few schools, esp p4, do nearly all students have a chance to go to any game they want, esp for free

As I have noted, UL believes we will make 100 doctoral graduates by 2028, which will make us SREB1, with a large increase in state funding.

We are in the process of adding several doctoral programs to support us in this. Some of the doctoral programs already have masters degree students on a waiting list.
    And, I believe, $500 M in Endowment.

One of the reasons we have passed LSU in research funding, is that they value athletics over academics.

And that, '71, is why I made the impolite comment. Apologies.

I love athletics. I love UL. But if I believed we could continue to build our university without athletics, I would be happy to drop to Div III.

That's where CalTech & MIT are. But they aren't public universities, and we have a different mission than they do.
Why can't we have both like Big 10 schools? Except for Northwestern and USC, all are public universities. Why not model those schools instead of SEC schools like LSU who seem to value athletics over academics? Then again, there are SEC schools that are also AAU universities like Texas, Texas A&M, Florida and Missouri.

Any movement for a Med School? Or is it just not going to happen?

Our governor is a UL alum and a Loyola law grad. Didn't attend LSU. Given our R1 status and connections with the governor, why not pursue it?

Of those 4, only florida achieved that status while IN the S-E-C, aTm and Bama have had some of the largest drops in US news and world reports academic rankings as their football teams rose
