Louisiana Campus OT: The Keg, Building For Sale

Let's here those Keg memories guys...

Would be nice to have the cashflow to buy all of these unused properties on McKinley Street and redevelop it for today's students.

Than a door nail. All the college kids go downtown. I find it shocking they want almost 1 million dollars for it. The building has been sitting idle for years. I can't imagine what it looks like inside. You have to imagine because there are no inside photos.

Nothing a wrecking ball won’t fix.

Even money the price is based on hopes the downtown crowd wants the land and adjacent properties for housing. Price no problem, look what they paid per foot for the Bottle Lofts.

Right but bottle lofts got a little government help with financing. No bank was going to touch it.

The price they're asking for is laughable. I have some great memories from nights on The Strip, it's actually kind of sad drving through now.

Yeah, taxpayers don’t realize LTPFA is THEIR money originated in the 70’s from residential development bonds/loans. It’s become the downtown/arts project bank.

Yep. When I am in the area I make it a point to drive past my old "haunts". Thought about winning the lottery and buying up all the property and revitalizing it back to its old stature. But then I look at all the residential properties surrounding and it's not likely they would let it get like it used to be. Soooo it will remain great memories for those of us from that generation.

Now back to how I will use those lottery winnings.................

It died when the ATC started enforcing the 21 year old drinking laws. Before that the whole strip was a magical place for 18-20 year old college students where it didn’t matter

Once they started doing that, downtown became the place to be for that age group
