There is way to much LSU coverage in the area.

That is the ONLY reason I was an LSU fan before I became a Louisiana fan.

I saw the same interview on channel 3 and could not believe it. I checked the channel thinking maybe it was on channel 2 by mistake. Shame on you channel 3!

    This is Upsetting

Naw Oldman you are not alone in this. It chaps my butt to listen to all that LSU stuff. What really chaps me is when the Sadvertiser puts LSU on the front sport page and the Cajuns are relegated to the inner pages.

That is one of the reasons why I recently stopped listening to XROCK 105.9 .. They have the never to broadcast LSU games on there station which is based out of Lafayette.

This is a GREAT IDEA UL Sports

thanks to you who responded about my comment on the statement i made about sports on tv3, but it seems that we are the minority on this issue, but i vow to continue the fight, if you hear this lone voice in the distance, THAT'S ME. it seems that there are not enough people who gave a dame or who will speak out.
i did talk to the sports director at tv3, we had a very good talk, he said he was sure that the announcer didn't mean to put ul down and i told him he needs to then choose his words a bit more carefully, and we dicuss other things as well. good game last nite, remember any left over football tickets that was not used can be used tomorrow. "GEAUX CAJUNS." Again thanks.

AND THANKS TO YOU OLDMAN FOR "BELLING THE CAT"!!!!! Perhaps this will make them aware that UL is the University in our area. Not the other state schools. It should be as plain as the nose on their face, but evidently not....

    UL Football

I didn't hear the comment made by the announcer but you are right, this is the university of the area. I am from the Laf./Broussard area but I go to my small Acadiana hometown occasionally & it amazes me all the LSU supporters. I'm given a hard time everytime I wear my Ragin Cajun wear.
I explain that I back the "Cajuns", the main university in Acadiana, not the southern belle college in the city of Baton Rouge (not part of Acadiana) where you won't find too many cajuns. I worked in B.R. for four years & there are some cajun last names but very few accents.
I know the tigers are winners right now on the football field but a "note" to the small towns of this area.
THERE IS A GREAT UNIVERSITY GROWING WITH LEAPS & BOUNDS RIGHT HERE IN CAJUN COUNTRY, "UNIVERSITY OF LOUISIANA" in the capital of Acadiana, Lafayette.

    GEAUX CAJUNS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Was that Early Doucet? A friend told me he had an uncle who was forced to play third string behind Daltin Hilliard, and some other back at LSU. Yeah that is the place for him behind Vincent, and Broussard.

if you thought the announcer on tv3 was something! check out 1420, these days, and I quote:
(pretending to be something else)(all lsu)
    monday morning (bitterman)
    wednesday morning (billy)
    wednesday nite (bitterman)
    saturday morning (bitterman)
we do not have a station for this university,

they call it a sports show, that way no one can say anything. think about that, we don't stand a chance.

I'm sick with all the LSU coverage around here, but I can understand that question to Doucet.

Like it or not, he's one of the top high school prospects in the nation and he'll have his pick of schools, LSU and Oklahoma included. While I'd love for him to say, "And I'm thinking about ULL, too," that wouldn't happen because we're a borderline AA school that's on the upswing, not a national power that he can showcase his talents at for a hopeful NFL career.

So while I would like a bit more ULL coverage over LSU, at least locally, I'd rather them ask him about LSU and not have him laugh when they mention ULL.

Oh yeah, he's going to play WR from what I've heard. LSU had a good freshman crop this season, but he'd probably be able to step right in and start on a team that's got Championship aspirations. You can't ask him to sacrifice that.

Until UL lands a few top prospects in the area no one is going to take them seriously. If last year the cajuns were able to sign an Alley Broussard then people would take them seriously.
