Ugly. Noble getting hit. Not so much Cajun batters. Lots of holes to fill next year. And the year after.
0-5 top of fifth.

Noble was petty good today, but good hitters will figure it out 3rd time around.
Even with the outcome, it was nice to be back in the stadium. Peanuts were great as always. Too cold for beer. Left after the 3rd because we had already been out at baseball in Youngsville since 9 am.
Noble pitched well. Agree that it would have been nice to sub for her after OM started to figure her out. We just don't have the depth right now. It's an interesting change vs. the past few years where the prior staff was super quick with the hook because they had numerous options.
Aside from pitching depth, the lack of power is also an adjustment. There are a few bats in the line up capable of the long ball. Just not what Cajun teams are used to.
In other softball news, seeing Texas curb-stomp UL Lubbock yesterday did not hurt my feelings.
That was interesting.
They lost a 2-1 game against them in walk off style on Friday, I think. Saw it on X. Allred was attempting to throw first to home and threw the ball into the baserunner running up the first base line. The runner coming from 3rd to home scored to win it. That was not unsatisfying.
Since we are now talking about other players Sam Landry threw a perfect game against Baylor.
