Baseball and Softball are the # 2 and # 3 revenue sports at UL; both should always be televised. Picking one over the other is small-time. As I said before, baseball is more popular with the locals, but softball is a better program.

Which has a potential for higher viewership?

The highest viewership for a stick and ball sport is the WCWS. This has been true for several years. Other years it is the CWS. Last year, the LSU-Texas game drew more than softball.

No I mean specifically to UL. Are there more people wanting to watch Cajuns Baseball or Cajuns softball?

You'd have to have streaming numbers from either espn+ or Nielsen. Probably not many as it takes a more than a few thousand streams to move the needle.

How many do you think are streaming those games, thousands? More like hundreds...

Probably softball has more potential for outside viewers based on history of the program pre-dating the post title9 p4 conf joanie come latelies. Also potential regional opponents may be scouting and possibly travel ball teams to learn and potential recruits.

That, to some degree, depends on the opponent. Softball vs LSU or Alabama at home likely outdraws baseball vs Lamar and vice versa. Also, and I assume this is true for both sports, a significant number of fans of SBC teams watch streaming of SBC teams other than their own, especially for games against high profile opponents and for conference games.

Just heard from a McNeese assistant that they usually have outfield cameras too but the wind was to bad on Sunday for them.

Just look at the attendance numbers of the 2. That will also be a reflection of the streaming audiences difference in both. Another words if base ball has 4k attendance and soft ball has 2k attendance. Then let’s say baseball has 20k watching the stream then soft ball probably has around 10k. Numbers are obviously made up but the point is the interest level doesn’t change that much in the streaming numbers vs live attendance numbers.

Just turn the radio on and listen to Jay. He's the best. Baseball is the perfect game for radio, and when a skilled practitioner is behind the mic it can be far more beautiful than anything that happens on the boob tube.

That's true. I enjoy baseball on the radio.
