Maybe this has already been discussed and if so I apologize. I know where Jay stands when it comes to this. Having said that I distinctly remember last year there was a game not being streamed yet had cameras set up and video in the club. Sunday I didn’t see any of the regular cameras. Hell I didn’t see any cameras at all. How do they conduct replay with no tv cameras? Other question is why can’t they just put the radio stream over the video feed when cameras are running inside the stadium since it costs extra to bring in a commentary crew? I don’t feel like these are unfair questions. Maybe I’m wrong.

Might be wrong but I think the requirement for replay is only in regard to conference games.

There was a replay Sunday that the umpires looked at and confirmed. That is why I’m asking.

Couldn't we live stream the games with a strategically placed phone so we can see the scoreboard for free?

My Aunt did this with our local high school games last season. People loved it.

Two thoughts....

Contractual requirements with ESPN? No broadcast allowed outside of their network. I'd bet money that is in place. If I were ESPN it definitely would be in the contract.

Second. Do we really want to look like a high school broadcast? I understand the desire to watch or listen. I'll age myself here a bit. Gonegolfin used to call me and I would put the phone (landline if you know what that means) down next to the radio so he could listen to the games. Today's equivalent is the facebook live feed. Just not sure that is what we want projected as a University.

I can’t believe it has to be said. A D1 program that can’t stream all of its baseball games in 2024 is ____ing ridiculous. Especially when it’s one of the most popular sports at the university.

Have you ever listed to Scott Brada call or comentate a softball game. He is terrible.

So you are saying softball should always take precedence over baseball when both are at home? I would guess you are in the minority on that.

While it isn't explicit on games broadast Title 9 very clearly states media coverage must be equal.

Ultimately we just don't have the funds available to have multiple broadcast available all the time. Especially now with NIL becoming an issue.

If that is true why don’t we see womens soccer on ABC, CBS and Fox on prime time broadcast as we do football. Womens soccer is title 9’s answer to football.

Along that line, anyone out there watch even one minute of an Unrivaled Women’s basketball league game? Angel Reese, the self made double double machine lighting it up?

I had to look it up, TNT and Max are the possible networks.

WNBA will die quickly when Catlin Clark finishes her run. She can make more doing NBA PXP in a few years than in the WNBA.

Government can Title IX colleges, but the open market is probably about to drop the hammer on the “they’re equal” fantasy of professional sports now that the balloon is popped.
