I would rather talk about the performance than officiating. Great energy all night from every player who hit the court. Guys hit some shots and that just fueled more defensive intensity. No 25 whose name I can’t pronounce but it finished with Killen had 10 blocks. Hard to believe we won with a guy doing that. Craig told us he would protect the paint in our podcast last week. Still we kept attacking the basket instead of settling for the 3 ball. That allowed us to foul him out. Mo especially got him on some nice head fakes. That is 9 wins now. After the Hosanna injury and the Koron Davis drama some wondered if we could get to 10. Maybe we can.

There was plenty of room in your area. Our section attendance went from 3 Wednesday night to 8 tonight. Woo hoo.

Good to see the guys still playing hard even though they’re limited talent wise. The guys that stick around for the new coach should be able to provide some good leadership going into next season.

The real question is will the new coach keep any of the current players.

New coach will keep some. If every non senior returns, that is only 6 players. They are Mo, Ratlliff, Hardy, Fields,White, and Evans. Hosanna is a possibility I presume. Regardless of who coach is, he will likely have to bring in 7 guys. The two who signed early are not bound to come here due to coaching change. One is a big and the other is a point guard. If he thinks they can contribute, he will have to re recruit them.

This set of refs must be related to the last home crew. Brutal no calls until last three minutes of game. Then phantom calls. Both ways. Really awful. Two of the calls we were closer to play than refs. Awful. Offered to give up my glasses to one of them. He really needs to seek medical help.
Anyway we can get Musk here. Sunbelt refs have been really inconsistent this year. Very few solid crews. Really takes away from the game.

Actually, I thought last night was much better officiated than Wednesday by a WIDE margin. Still not great. They did call some ticky tack stuff toward the end, but the game was essentially over by then.

The only call I saw that was blatantly bad was the illegal screen called on Evens. The Marshall defender flopped and got the call.

Don't know if you heard the reference on radio or TV but the African American official is a realtor who, along with his wife, has a show on HGTV.

I didn't hear it at the game. That particular official was trash and heard it from the crowd

The ticky tack calls at the end were a joke based on how the rest of the game was called

BTW- Evans is a freaking stud. If he keeps developing (and stays) he will be one of the best players here in a while. That alley oop on the end bounds pass towards the end of the game was beautiful

Nice win on senior night, happy for those guys.

SBC related, caught the end of Troy at Arkansas State. Kobe air balled a potential tying 3 with 6 seconds to go. Troy wins, 4 way tie for first.

USA apparently has tie breaker.

Man I wish we could have had a squad this year. The league is so ripe for the taking, but nobody is good enough to take it.
