New coach will keep some. If every non senior returns, that is only 6 players. They are Mo, Ratlliff, Hardy, Fields,White, and Evans. Hosanna is a possibility I presume. Regardless of who coach is, he will likely have to bring in 7 guys. The two who signed early are not bound to come here due to coaching change. One is a big and the other is a point guard. If he thinks they can contribute, he will have to re recruit them.
Actually, I thought last night was much better officiated than Wednesday by a WIDE margin. Still not great. They did call some ticky tack stuff toward the end, but the game was essentially over by then.
The only call I saw that was blatantly bad was the illegal screen called on Evens. The Marshall defender flopped and got the call.
Don't know if you heard the reference on radio or TV but the African American official is a realtor who, along with his wife, has a show on HGTV.
I didn't hear it at the game. That particular official was trash and heard it from the crowd
The ticky tack calls at the end were a joke based on how the rest of the game was called
BTW- Evans is a freaking stud. If he keeps developing (and stays) he will be one of the best players here in a while. That alley oop on the end bounds pass towards the end of the game was beautiful
I also thought last night was better officiated than Wednesday. Easy to say that when you win of course. Now, at times I thought they believed they were calling an NBA game with all the traveling that was allowed and it went both ways. After Coach Z fussed about it enough, a travel was called on Killen and it was a big call. It helped fuel a late run of ours.
Now something else occurred last night that was good to see. That is several players, coaches, and trainers from years past were recognized at halftime. Players all the way from the Shipley years to Bob Marlin were in the group. Biggest cheer was for Hall of Famer, Coach Bobby Paschal. I wish that part of the evening would have been publicized more. Maybe it was and I just missed it. Seeing all those guys did bring back a ton of memories to us old timers.
