No way. Branding is fine. Matter of fact, if they fully lean into the Mardi Gras Krewe and treat it as more of a Krewe than NIL fundraiser, would probably make more money.

The reason why I drew up this post, with full knowledge of all of US knowing what "Krewe Allons" is, is because all of Lafayette knows as well.

Krewe Allons is the NIL funding arm if I'm not mistaken, seriously. Keep Krewe Allons name in a re-brand to LFG or anything directly related to (by not having to think about it) Louisiana Athletics. By doing so (keeping Krewe Allons existing structure) you retain the program in place i.e. the few who contribute $10 bucks or more each month. Maggard said throw 10 bucks a month and forget about it, like our ESPN+ subscriptions. Great idea but we need more. Much more. Progress made, but we need MORE. Moving on, how are new minds (recent Alum, sports loving students, community, businesses) being made aware the something called "Krewe Allons" is UL's NIL collective.

Associating the name with mardi gras could cause some to fail to realize it is open year round.
If it just takes 10 bucks what if RCAF and alumni association shave $5 bucks off of every membership fee and send it to the collective?
