Cannot go on 6 min stretches Without a bucket at end of games. We cannot draw up a winning shot either at close of any game which is why Coach Z will not be the coach here. He is a good motivator but not a head coach to help coach closing out a close game.

No coaching with no play for final shot. Wasted a couple of seconds then drove the basket with a bad layup. No ball movement and finding an open shooter. Nothing but isolation basketball and forced shots the last 5 minutes. The story of UL basketball the last several years. We need a real coach who can actually coach basketball and no more street ball.

Another tough loss. The guys are playing hard but just have these second half lapses. Inconsistent shooting once again rears its ugly head.

Stats say we win game. But wins aren’t in stats, I know. That lid on basket late in second half as was pointed out was the killer.

  6. Ragin' Cajuns Men's Basketball: Big Nights From Garnett and El Moutaouakkil Not Enough as Cajuns Fall in Stat

STATESBORO, Georgia - Kentrell Garnett scored 17 points and became the 52nd Cajun to score 1,000 career points at Louisiana on Wednesday at Georgia Southern. Mostapha El Moutaouakkil added a season-high 24 while Christian Wright and Kyran Ratliff finished in double figures, but it wasn't enough as the Cajuns fell to the Eagles 83-82. Each of Georgia Southern's last three wins in the series have come by one.

I don't think all the stats show we win the game. One stands out if you look at the numbers more closely. Yes, the Eagles did not shoot a good percentage from 3 but they actually made 1 more than we did. Reason we lost this game was interior defense. Eagles made 19 of their 25 field goal attempts inside the arc. That is almost 80 percent. You won't win many games allowing that percentage inside the arc. They scored inside way too easily most of the night. 3 of the last 4 games we have gone cold from the field late in the second half. Coach Z keeps talking about mental toughness. He needs to keep preaching that as perhaps they will eventually start making shots at crunch time.
