Lake Charles Growth = UL Growth

….A few years back, the area was going crazy with building from the Gulf of America to DeRidder and Texas line to Jeff Davis Parish ….think that the LNG build up of ports was the reason ….can some of y’all give an update with the new administration’s new policies? Seems that this would increase the UL enrollment! Y’all’s thoughts!

Was just down at Venture Global LNG in Cameron last week. Was told that they are about to build a second facility twice the size right next to the current one. Currently, stronger power poles are being installed from Lake Charles to Cameron with new lines.

VG is building another facility which will be larger than this one. I used to fly Mike Sabel the CEO into that facility as well as the one in Myrtle Grove. They are also going to build another similar facility right alongside the one in Myrtle Grove.

Those construction project have several thousands of people there everyday. All very well paying jobs. If you haven’t been to south lake Charles lately you wouldn’t recognize it.

We were down that way 2 weeks ago. My nephew works for Venture. Seems like all the locals each own an RV park. Still only 1 store in Cameron. Quite a few new camps along the Cajun Riviera.

… missed the opening but was related to the gas projects down around Cameron Parish….can some oil field guys post what’s up? I had posted a while back about the expected growth of the Lake Charles area…..kinda stopped when Biden got in office but was thought to be a huge growth economically for the area and thinking students for UL and McN!
