UL softball picked to finish second in Sun Belt race in program's transition season

In a transition season under first-year head coach Alyson Habetz and major turnover with the roster, the UL Ragin’ Cajuns still got the most first-place votes and were predicted to finish second overall in the Sun Belt’s Preseason coaches poll.

Instead, Texas State was predicted to win the league and ended UL’s five-year run as Sun Belt regular season champions.

She did. The great pitchers of the 2024 Sun Belt are all gone. Lackie at USA, Johnson at Troy, Mullins at Tx St., Landry at UL. All gone! Pitching will be a question for every team. I don't know how they found one to be Pre-season Pitcher of the Year.

Johnson last season was 2023. not 2024. In 2024 she was a coach on the Troy staff.

The TxSt pitcher they picked had a good year last year; though she was vastly overshadowed by Mullins. At this point, I wouldn't argue too much with that choice.
