There were aspects of the design I didn’t like. I never cared for the name. I did not really like Cory’s comment to fans that this is happening whether you like it or not. However, I believe his ideas and comments would have been drastically different had the university proposed any constructive criticisms or actual desires for the project. Instead they simply said they had no interest in ANY mascot and then shot down his idea as posing brand confusion concerns when the university itself is the notorious own worst offender of sabotaging its own branding efforts.
An article from the daily advertiser came out recently stating there was no cease and desist letter and that the mascot can continue being made without the marks of UL.
