Sorry for backtracking, if this was mentioned already...
What was the speed limit on the road where this occurred
I mourn his death. I dont like death, and I really dont like a young person dying...
But, you will not convince me that the charge (whether it was correct, overcharge, or malicious prosecution) is the reason he is dead. He is an adult and he is responsible for his actions.
Kyren Lacy got into an argument with his family, fired a gun at the ground during that argument, fled the scene, led police officers on a miles-long chase (which could have killed someone), and then committed suicide.
I have no opinion on the cause of the accident because I doubt all facts are known. Having seen how investigations (albeit most of a lower profile) work, it will be a while until we know all facts. And odds are, those facts will be twisted in ways that make them half-facts.
How can you watch this video and not say he indirectly caused this whole incident with his passing. Look how quick he had to break to get back into his lane. The lady shares fault for tailgating the gold truck who had to brake, but this whole chain reaction started because Kyren went over the line to pass at a high rate of speed. I get he got back into his lane before the accident, but none of this probably happens if he isnt passing. His lawyer conveniently left this clip out of his video.
With all the theories brewing...is a potential theory that had he stayed at UL he has no Charger and doesnt go back and forth to thibodaux on days he has practice, and potentially this event never occurs?
I would be careful about simply assuming him taking his own life was a result of his legal troubles. That's a whole other issue and for anybody who's had to deal with suicide, almost impossible to understand. I'm guessing his lawyer probably told him things were going to work out.
The woman who hit the oncoming vehicle would have done it whether Kyren was coming the other way, or not. She wasn't tailgating. If she had been, she'd have been doing 30 MPH. The data from her car shows she was doing 50 MPH until less than a second from impact. IOW she came up on the gold pick up truck while diddling with her cell phone & eating funyuns out of her lap & realized she was about to crash into the back of a pick up truck & swerved into the other lane & struck the other vehicle head on. Lacy could have been doing monkey flips in his car behind that scene & it wouldn't have made one bit of difference. This lady struck that car & killed & hurt those people because she had no idea what was going on outside of her own little world until she looked up & saw the back end of that pick up truck doing 30 MPH While she was doing 50 MPH. That's it. There's nothing sinister, or earth shattering about this accident. They happen every day with distracted drivers.
The idea that anyone else caused this is what all the unnecessary hullabloo is all about. And I can't believe the LSP continue to push this narrative when they know better.
