The situation was reversed & the supervising cop who showed up acted like he was going to charge me because the woman called me a liar after I shamed her about driving so carelessly with a car load of kids. I've seen it go both ways. It doesn't make it right in either situation. The cop didn't want my written statement & he didn't want to know who I was. He just wanted me gone because he knew I saw the whole thing take place plain as day & he wanted to control the narrative.
That brings up a good question....when and how are people expected to stay at scene, who are witnesses and who arent. How did you first approach the situation that day, did they waive you over, or did you walk up on your own. Was any other assistance required before officer arrived

As soon as the crash happened within seconds, the lady got out of the car like she was about to pass out & die. the problem was, I saw how she opened her door & the way she came out of the car & got out. Then she started the woe is me & how could you do that routine. It didn't take the police but maybe two minutes to be on the scene. But by that time, while sitting in the lot waiting to turn onto Ambassador Caffery I surmised this woman was going to be after this guy & his company's wallet BIG TIME. And she was the one who was at fault. I knew it was my moral responsibility to help this guy out. However, I had no idea the supervising police officer would become so hostile toward me as a witness when this poor poor lady started hollering he lyin, he lyin! How could she even know since she had her face buried in her cell phone until impact. I'm not defending Kyren's civil mindedness. And I'm surely not defending his driving. What I am saying is the guy did not cause that wreck & had no reason to be charged with felonies which could possibly land him in jail & destroy his future. And you know this just as well as I do. Your own arguments have proven this point.

maybe we ought to look into our own house before casting stones into the house of another . . .
Have you seen the latest video the police have released? Many witnesses making statements that Lacy indeed caused the accident. A longer version of what the attorney showed a few days ago.

Just a sad situation all around.

Thanks....sorry for simple curiosity, but what "angle" possible could she have to try and blame it on him in your scenario.
As far as my question, not trying to solve the kyren case with it...
i am legitimately intwrested in knowing what the right thing to do is, with all the disagreements out there and all the different jurisdictions, it doesnt seem cut and dry as to who has to stay on scene and who doesnt.

I've seen it. The one thing it does do is give the LSP, who I personally respect more than lust about any other law enforcement group, some cover for what became a circle jerk out of an accident investigation. On the one hand, you had a guy who was joy riding in his fast ride & passing more people at once than he should have & ____ing some of those people off. On the other, you had a lady who was admittedly not paying attention & traveling 15 MPH over the speed limit & almost rear ended a guy on the highway who was being extra careful, then running headlong into another car injuring both the driver & the passenger, who eventually died & attempting to cover her own carelessness for swerving into oncoming traffic. My question is why did this trooper continue to insist on pursuing Lacy when it was painfully obvious his galavanting had zero to do with her wreckless operation.

In the situation of that Saturday morning, I have no idea except it's not a big secret in legal circles that even if you are totally at fault when it comes to an accident with someone who is driving a company vehicle, even if you are totally wrong, the company will have a certain dollar sign they will pay just to make you sign a NDA & shut up & go away. My belief is this woman was well aware of that & it didn't take long for me to suspect the supervising police officer was also well aware of that. Unfortunately, money causes corruption. And that corruption has inundated every part of our society from the way our traffic accidents are handled to the way we watch our favorite sports teams play. I can tell you this for a fact. Had I been In Kyren Lacy's shoes knowing what he went through & the way he ended up. there is no way in hell I would have stopped at the scene of that accident. And there's no way I would have turned myself in. In fact, I would have gotten rid of that car ASAP & made them prove that I was ever there. It's not about right & wrong any more. It's about money & the love of money & how far most people are willing to stoop to get it, or not have to give it.

While searching for the truth, which I fully agree with, don’t think for one second someone is not hunting for a payday.
