6 hours back in the day was a part time student.
Athletes are on scholarships. We can set standards for student to maintain those scholarships. Same for any student. Hours, gpa. Don’t see how NIL should matter.

Well…it used to be that earning money as an NCAA athlete was scrutinized by the clearinghouse, or was supposed to be. So one could argue back in those days maybe the athlete could be on scholarship an extra semester or two if playing sports still, to aid in their graduation, as they weren’t (supposed to be) earning money during the season like other academic scholarship students could.
But now with NIL, that’s all out the window, and especially with universities now able to pay student athletes directly.
Seems to me your athletic scholarship should absolutely max out after 8 semesters, and use that NIL/university cash to pay for the rest.
