Thanks Turbine for not letting RP get that stupid.

    Hypothetical theories abound.

Got racial and ugly for a while, use of a few hot button words from both sides. Even went down the Dodge Charger rabbit hole. Someone claimed to be a relative was arguing towards the end.

Some few zingers, most referencing Lacy’s dropping of passes tied to the charges being dropped. And his need to hold onto the soap.

Only one sane person recommended deleting the whole thread.

I have a demented twist, but parts of it I found offensive. Stupid knows no color.

But now with NIL, that’s all out the window, and especially with universities now able to pay student athletes directly.

Seems to me your athletic scholarship should absolutely max out after 8 semesters, and use that NIL/university cash to pay for the rest.
——-my first game at USL, I was 17 years old……so this guy, along with others now, is 24 years old……whole lot of maturation goin’ on!

These big programs don't really care if these guys mature as regular adults these days, Boom. They're just concerned with them maturing as football players. The university will will fake grades for them if it has to.

The trial lawyer boosters bankrolling the NIL don't care either.

I'm big in track and field bud.

Mods purged A LOT over on TD. At least 7+ pages. Oh well, there are two positives of all this from the UL point of view. First, that’s on TSAB’s clock and second ESPN did get Louisiana right in the article.

The young man messed up bad. His life is ruined. Morris bart has a case going against the city of New Orleans over the bourbon street fiasco. I wonder who will be involved in this case.

I find the NOLA situation interesting. Were there weaknesses in the NOPD security? Yes. Could this terrorist attack be considered an act of war? Yes. It’s a money grab, but the population of NOLA will supply a jury that will gladly stick it to the man, but in reality, themselves.

You know, as much as I’ve previously loved ____ting on LaToya Cantrell and think NOLA voters are morons for electing and re-electing her, this was a planned out terrorist attack. I’m not sure how much blame is really warranted, and you just have to hope both Louisiana and NOLA officials can at least learn from it. The people who carry out these acts are flat out evil POSes.

Trial lawyers jumping up to help sue the city over an Islamic terrorist attack are the reason their profession is viewed by many as the most unethical in the world.

This could get interesting because, according to the complaint, the contractor was specifically instructed to not provide temporary security measures. I dunno if that exposes the city of NOLA to liability. I guess that's up to the courts to decide.

I do know the city of Lafayette has installed removable bollards downtown and other locations where events are held. They do look a little flimsy though.

The not caring about grades and keeping guys eligible has been happening for a long time. I've met some guys who played college football, that seriously had me questioning how they were even eligible to enroll in college. Unfortunately, when guys are given passes their ego grows and they start to think they are untouchable. I only see this getting worse in the world of NIL.
