SEC was exposed this year.
I was listening to the Ohio State radio broadcast on the varsity network. Their play by play guy is good. Very good.
Steve Sarkisian will defend the toss back play call that allowed Ohio State to pin its ears back, but its really just another example of a coach overthinking things.
When a coach overthinks things, he becomes the 12th man for the opponents defense.
Both of the games were hard hitting good games. Both were sealed by a miscue by the losing quarterback near the end of the game.
Notre Dame all the way
I will say, while many of us tend to yell at some of Coach Dez's play calling (myself included), I LOVE the fact he doesn't overthink Down and Goal at the 1 yard line. Even in Napier years, you still saw Levi in the damn shotgun.
Dez will just put Ben or Chandler under center, so we're not snapping the damn ball back to the 4 or 5 yard line, and say "Follow your Center". And the Center and Guards earn their scholarships.
I hope fans remember this next time CMD makes a call that fails or that we don't agree with. This proves that even the most well known and respected coaches sometimes make calls that blow up in their face. There are many, many more examples that occur every year during the season. When a play works we call them great play callers. When it fails we think they are nothing but a dumb a_s_s!
Or he could blame the coordinator
