Don’t discourage the new Rebounder’s Club. You know, all this money and support will be pouring into the program with the stroke of a pen on a contract.

Any doubt, pick almost any thread here or on FB regarding the next coach and someone is promising all this funding and enthusiasm coming if the right hire is done in their eyes.

UL MBB has been broken since the misfire hire. Going to take more than a hire to fix.

I really thought all the fans would be back once Marlin was gone. At least that is what I heard somewhere.

It's still the same staff and terrible team. Don't expect any better attendance until next year

Some are saying attendance will increase.

    Not this season.

The ones responsible for keeping him 15 years will boycott the rest of the season.

I predict a short boost will overcome the boycott but wont be sustained unless the interim goes on some kind of winning streak.

It’s a 4-12 team. The least talented one I’ve seen in my lifetime. They play ugly, unentertaining basketball (outside of spurts of relentless defense). They've got an interim coach finishing out a season that was over before it started. I never gave up my ticket, so I still go when I can. Made it for the 2nd half yesterday and half of that product was already too much. Do I wish more people would go out and support an atrocious product out of the goodness of their hearts? Sure. That’s just not reality. A lot of people did say they would be back when Marlin was gone. On the other hand, I don’t think anyone on God’s green earth thought that time would come in the middle of a season. Why would they? This is unprecedented territory at our university. If people don’t back up their talk next year and get season tickets when the new staff is in place, I have no problems having this discussion. Not that we can’t have this discussion after every game this year. I’ll participate. Just don’t delude yourself into believing we are providing a worthwhile product. We aren’t.

It’s also time that we have honest, reasonable discussions about what we should consider successful attendance at our sporting events. I’d be interested to hear what others think on that.

Myself + 2 attended our first game in 2 years last night.

We will be back remainder of the season.

They start off so well so often, how much of this failing at the end is conditioning?

Oh I get it. More tongue in cheek than anything. It did seem like some were saying firing Marlin was the magic key to open up MBB fandom again though.
We cannot score but at least we are running a semblance of an offense now. We have some guys who can play but it does not look like we have meshed. Defense looks good most of the time. Evans needs more minutes. Dude played 17 minutes and scored 19.

I thought Evans looked gassed a few times, not sure how many more minutes he couldve given. Especially in the first half, he was slow running down the court a couple of possessions.
