Ragin' Cajuns Roll
#RaCaRoll
Why bring back the Southwestern Louisiana Bulldog and have the same mascot as LA Tech? The gator is our true on-campus tradition. If its the color that is problematic, we can agree on something other than white.
Actually, we could have a red gator and a white gator, a male and a female called Louis and Ana, capturing the school name, school colors, and on-campus tradition.
You are snubbing one of the few campus traditions we have and could expand on. Only 2 schools with the Gator mascot, so that puts us in pretty good company with Florida. Besides, how many schools are Bulldogs or Tigers? Nothing unique about returning to the Bulldogs. And, Napier won't be at Florida much longer. We had The Swamp before Florida claimed it so we have a right to it and our Gator tradition. Also, remember this is a mascot and doesn't change our Ragin Cajuns moniker.
When people say the gator is not unique, just remind them that UL had Cayenne and it didn’t work. The gator is a natural fit for our culture.
Dont people at nfl games dress up like all sorts of things, that look like mascots, but team doesnt say, hey you cant do that you are not our real mascot....examples: the pope, the whistle head guy at saints, dawg pound at cleveland, raider's army(whatevrr they are called) probably tons more.
