Our traditions die because every new coach or outside staff member that comes in wants to create their own traditions and then get rid of the past ones. Remember the Young Ragin' Cajuns run before the football game? Gone. Baseball kept theirs (tradition is a tradition at baseball) but our traditions die because of fan apathy or new coach ego. There is also Learfield, they owns the game events, so if they are not funded, they don't happen, tradition or not. Look what happened to basketball time-outs. They used to be full of contests, fan races (remember the sumo race to flatten the trash bags and the "know the player" contest?) and more; now all gone because Learfield couldn't fund them.
