Des' best class yet, and I believe we will have a few more from the portal which may put us in First in the SBC as we are currently 3rd in the SBC for 2025 recruiting.

I like on3.com because it shows all major recruiting websites if you have the industry comparison switched on:
    ON3, 247SPORTS, ESPN, and RIVALS.

We have also gone from 113th to 83rd nationally.

We need to find a way to get up into the 50’s on rankings.

When you consider the season we just had with what, from what I can remember, being some low recruiting rankings the past couple rounds...if we ever could start pulling in class rankings in the 50s, the results on the field could be incredible.

Billy Napiers classes were consistently in the 50's-60's.

I know it's relative, but it's a good indicator of talent needed to compete for championships and beat the P5s.

Correct sir. Cajuns recruiting in 50s and 60s gives us a ranked team.
The high standard has been set by the Napier days and let’s keep that the standard here!!!

This is all eye candy of course and relevant to a certain extent. We have had a history of finding quality skilled athletes; in Louisiana and East Texas you can throw a quarter across the street and find one.

Our greatest challenge is finding quality DL/OL. Our best options are finding athletes like Mitchell and Hunt that are long and athletic and developing them. Big guys like Jackson, Harrington, Dotson and Torrence aren't quick enough to play on the edge against smaller speed rushers in the SBC.

The same applies to the DL, we simply are better off finding guys around 270 that can move and build them up. We are not going to recruit 6-4,290 out of HS that can move well. We have no problem with guys on the edge that can run, our problem at times has been are playing them down instead of off the ball or in a 50-Front and they can't hold the edges.

How we recruit and develop on the lines will define our success on the field. And the portal will have to be part of the equation.

Excellent post. Hope Des can find these guys in the portal like we have the WR and QB's.

The hard part for Des and the staff will be decisions on current scholarship players that are not developing as expected or simply can't compete at a D1 level.
