Agree. At the same time, it seems quite logical he was hoping for a breech of the lithium battery area and subsequent fire. Explosive devices in the vehicle, centuries old structures, other devices found in area. But everything had to fall perfectly.

It could be said dude was playing the long game and the plan got stopped in the first quarter.

The losses incurred are horrific. God’s grace intervened stopping the nightmare.

    Where was the "plan b"?

2 heavy police presence everywhere BUT- most were congregating in groups of 10-15 at corners
All around the FQ. I asked a group "hey why aren't you all Patrolling"?. Met with blank cop stares.

    3. So no bollards so "plan b" was to have TWO police vehicles "blocking" bourbon st at canal st. You got it, the terrorists drove around them -on the sidewalk - and got around them. Great planning guys. The police security plan for the FQ -on New Years Eve, the night before Sugar Bowl, a month before the SUPER BOWL - was a complete failure. Period.

And 4. I note VERY little said about the FACT this guy was an ISLAMIC terrorist. couldn't Care less he was a "vet". I Spent 35 yrs in Marine Corps, I know many like him.

Hard to trust those guys when I was overseas. VERY HARD.
I don't know why you're harping on bollards, because as you said the terrorist would have driven around upgraded bollards anyway.

There are many plain clothed cops patrolling Bourbon.

The response by LEO/NOPD could not have been quicker as they lit his ass up as soon as his vehicle was stopped by that cherry picker.

I mean, in hindsight you probably do need bollards on sidewalks to main tourist spots now since the islamists are using vehicles as battering rams now.

In front of "Krazy Korner" is where I saw the same group of 10-15 cops. The place is a tourist stop and a lot more toned down than say, Razoo. The camera shot is on the balcony at Cat's Meow. @ 3:15 am they all hauled ass in lockstep. Only time that many NOPD are in front of a bar is when someone is being wheeled out or the establishment wants to go out of business. So, yea I can back up what you saw.

Then what exactly are you doing here??? A terrorist attacks New Orleans, and you respond by calling New Orleans a **** hole. Why? What point are you trying to make by saying that? Do you just enjoy kicking people when they’re down?

Dude, you're about to bleed through your pants. If you weren't so damn sensitive and take a moment to think instead of lash out with emotion. What I mean is there is ALWAYS shootings, stabbings and violence in that city. I've had a dear friend get killed in the FQ. That is in NO way trashing the people from New Orleans. Its an indictment on the perpetual violence in that city. So you can ____ right off clown.

Told my bride the first time the chief spoke Wednesday AM she was done and will be fired when it’s all said and done.

And the whole bunch Wednesday AM were jockeying for position and face time, which was utterly disgusting. Never thought LaToya Da Destroya could come off the most sensible in the moment one. But that’s not saying much.
