So getting a JC coach that was able to consistently field successful team play (getting every player on the same page in minimal time) is a crucial aspect to consider for Louisiana's future success in the age of rotating players yearly.
What was Marlin's salary before he was canned? Obviously UL will not pay the new guy that same salary but what do we expect the salary to be for next HC? And Happy New Year everyone!

I really believe that our guy Brad Boyd will be a part of our next coaching staff. I think it will be great to have him as a part of the program and possibly our future HC!

I don’t know Brad. I’m sure he’s a great guy, but no way in hell would I put him on my staff in any capacity. If we’re going to truly move forward, then we need a full clean slate. Young up and coming coach with COLLEGE COACHING experience, understands the current landscape, one who can recruit NATIONALLY and can energize a fan base. I get the “people will come back to Cajundome if we hire Brad” narrative, but we also said that with Dez and we still have an empty stadium. Let the new coach build his own staff and give him the support he deserve from the university and fan base. Let him build this program his way. With the current state of the program, we have a big opportunity to have a something we’re proud of again. Bob was here for 15 years. If we make an average hire again, we could be stuck with him for years and it could be a long time before we get to hire a new head coach.

Again, I don’t know Brad at all and I’m sure he’s a great guy, but he’s not our future. It’s not personal, this is a business and more importantly an huge investment for UL. We gotta stop thinking and settling for small time and start thinking and expecting big time.

Steven Pearl (Bruce Pearl’s son), Associate HC at Auburn would be a great hire.

I talked to Brad. He said if he was the HC of the Cajuns his goal would be to win the National Championship. That's the mind set we need.

I think all coaches would have that goal in all collegiate sports. Nothing unique.

    Bonus usually written in contract.

Brad has a ton of connections in the area that can be very beneficial to the program from fan engagement to recruiting. He definitely needs to be part of the program in some capacity.

This horse has been beaten so damn bad the last 4-5 years, there's no glue to be found.
