The two weeks of bowls leading up to the new years bowls used to be my favorite time of the year other than the first 2 days of march madness. Now I couldn’t give less off a schitt about any of these games. NIL, the opt outs, the portal and the playoffs have totally taken away from all the other bowl games.

Better enjoy it while we can. Once Mr. Mouse needs deeper cuts, the non CFP bowls will slowly go away. THEN some of you will get your wish. A G5 or 6 or 7 playoff.

The job then will be to hold off being combined with FCS, something UL has spent decades from dropping down to.

Since espn owns bowls, what would stop them from owning regionals or super regionals.

It has to do with relevancy. If the games become irrelevant, the money won’t be there.

Few people can name the last 3 FCS championship game’s finalists and winner w/o looking it up. Unless they’re from the Dakotas.
