I am knee deep in The Life and Legend of an America Original. A great book about Rickey Henderson.

Guys, we can't let this slide by. I didn't see where his passing was mentioned. One of the greatest to ever plat the game.

    We'll miss you Rickey. RIP

I have a funny Rickey story you may or may not have heard already. Late in his career, I can't remember which club he was on at the time, the players were loading on to the bus to go to a Spring Training game. Rickey was one of the last guys to climb aboard, looking for a seat. One of the other players told Rickey to go sit in the front of the bus. There was a seat saved for him because he had tenure.

Rickey looked at the player and said, "10 year? Nah man Rickey got 15 year."

I think that's why I loved the Deggs and Glasco aggressive baserunning style of ball. The analytics probably say you shouldn't be that aggressive and get needless outs, but I just like the strategy of forcing the defense to have to react all the time.

And for programs like ours, that might be the best way to win against the bigger programs who have the huge arms on the mound/circle and the sluggers.
