Extending Des's contract is the right thing to do at this point.

    I certainly wouldn't revoke what's done.

Hopefully Maggard a healthy poison pill for interested suitors.

Louisiana has a great track record of keeping mediocrity, but normally contracts in hand rarely keep any coach home, when another $chool calls.

What families are concerned with is success and in the big picture success means the coach will be leaving soon. Meaning stability really is a non factor.

Next year however, is always a factor, I get that.

Agree. But the CBM situation is FINALLY done. Glad that is done. And it could have been worse.

I went look up the new dean of coaches of the SBC, Keith Richard of ULM. A person who some wanted here. In his 15 year run, which will end in March, two second place finishes and winning league seasons, no NCAA appearances, 3 overall winning records, yet to win 100 league games, and may not by season’s end. He is the active win leader in the SBC though. 40 year career.

    That’s NLU’ing it.

Its a gamble they think is worth taking.

You either end up with Robe or Marlin.

What amazes me about CBM, he got 15 years and wasn’t a “favorite son”. Goodness knows, if that was the case, he’d still be here.

AAU was started because in the late 1800s, there were some question from European universities as to the quality of all American higher educational institutions. At that time, European universities were much more highly regarded than were most US institutions. This was a quality controlled measure, sort of a good housekeeping seal of approval. The European universities could be assured that people graduating from AA universities had graduated from, very well qualified schools.

Note the official names of schools used and a few surprising members.
