After 15 years of making $500k+ / year he could have decided his legacy was worth more than $200k.

The decision he made to leave the team mid season supports some of the issues fans have expressed about Marlin.

There is no personal agenda against Marlin. It’s not like people suddenly woke up one day and said “You know what? I don’t like Bob.” It’s the job of the coach and program to give fans a reason to show up and support, but 15 years of mediocrity and losing by 29 at home to 4-5 Lamar only motivates people to make up their own minds on how they support the program.

Maggard realized the fans spoke loud enough to not show up which is why the decision was made the other day.

I just got tired of driving to the Dome to get overcharged for concessions, then watch CRAP basketball… which was a result of mediocre (at best) recruiting and less than mediocre coaching. And if the University would have decided to hire Boyd without an extensive search, I (and I’m sure many others) would have been less than happy.
