Look, Baw, our politicians don't get elected and re-elected because they hanging out at UL tailgates and sporting Ragin Cajun plates on their vehicles.

There is a reason Darrell Hall wore a USL shirt on a nationwide promo.

This was the place to be for fun.

Then the city started shutting everything down, and for a while the perimeters of Lafayette were the places to be.

People came from all over the state.

Remember The Keg and The Library? USL was a true party school. I believe USL was named the #1 Party School in the country one year. I don't recall when both bars closed. It sure was fun being in college back then.

Keg “died” decades before that. When law enforcement got serious about DWI, that killed the strip, and partying as we knew it.

Barricading blocks off on a Friday afternoon, cheap booze, open air drinking, and nobody taking away car keys. Much like Blackham, those days aren’t coming back.

Heck, one drunken night a cop helped me to my car parked at Lafayette Motors. That didn’t happen anymore after the early 80’s.
