Keg “died” decades before that. When law enforcement got serious about DWI, that killed the strip, and partying as we knew it.
Barricading blocks off on a Friday afternoon, cheap booze, open air drinking, and nobody taking away car keys. Much like Blackham, those days aren’t coming back.
Heck, one drunken night a cop helped me to my car parked at Lafayette Motors. That didn’t happen anymore after the early 80’s.
