Yeah he was so disconnected that the administration, who had tried to distance themselves from him, had to go to him to try and get people to the games. Even after all of the backstabbing done by Marlin and associates of the program he still shows up. He still advocates for the program more than any other former athlete at this university.
Seems like ancient history now. I remember a lot of those games. Kinda sad compared where we are now...
Still has no track record of success in coaching.
I don’t think anyone should be forced to be put on a coaching staff and I don’t think he is anywhere near what we need at HC.
If he was named head coach, I’d continue to stay away from the Dome. With that said he has absolutely no chance to be the HC here.
That shows it is possible because it happened before. Let's bring UL basketball back. Make the right hire. The fans came out for Hud. The right coach can do the same for basketball. But, he has to have a personality that will ignite the fan base and restore student pride and attendance.
Hate to say it, but Marlin couldn't ignite anything. I would fall asleep just listening to his after game interviews. Nice guy, but no energy. Kinda like Eeyore on Winnie the Pooh...
You are right on this issue. I think we all appreciate BB and his career here and his excitement for the program but the head search is beyond him and just about any solid HC is going to want their people on staff. BB has no experience that could warrant a forced hire at this point. That's all I'll say on the issue as I hope its a moot point moving forward.
