To me, being able to recruit, despite limited NIL funding, needs to be the primary qualification for the new coach. It is much easier to coach with good talent (see Bob Marlin a couple of years ago). If the next person is not an outstanding recruiter he will not be any more successful than Marlin was.

I would add find a highly successful JC coach since players are most likely to stay no longer than 2 years.
There will be exceptions going forward but teams with NIL the will most likely turnover almost every two years
