Thread: Men's NCAA Soccer Championship

On a global basis soccer is insanely ahead of every other sport. While it hasn't fully translated into the US culture yet it has made tremendous headway over the past 30 years.

A lot of things in play but soccer will eventually become a dominant sport here. The question is will there be anything left to college athletics at all. There really isn't another country where athletics play such a large role at the collegiate level.

    I thoroughly enjoy watching MLS

Or this year, Inter Miami. Their away games had tickets sold that would rival some superbowls. But many teams had great crowds like Cincinnati, Miami & Charlotte and average attendance was over 23,000 which is better than NBA

First off, soccer is a grueling sport. Not that basketball isn't but you can play back to back in basketball which is what they do often in the NBA. But, soccer has a number of challenges such as international play which takes players off of teams to go play for country, and they have in season tournaments such as Champions League, World Cup if on that specific year, Olympics and US Open cup etc... The average MLS player plays double the regular season games in various other competitions.

Any truth to the rumor LeBron wants a franchise in Cleveland and wants to name it Floppers United?

I suppose there are different ways to measure "bigger", there are 3 and 4 year olds playing soccer now, doubt anyone plays tackle american football before 6. Is it defined by number playing or by nfl tv viewers

They have been trying that since the 90s, dont you remember jake delhomme playing in germany, didnt seem to grow that fast

Does cross country use the same select/non select model with too many champs?

I must admit, i watched two LaLiga matcues over the weekend.... (spain)
And it was much more fast paced than i remember even wprld cup matches being, seemed like almost everytime possession changed there was a scoring chance

Because the NFL leached them dry.

Kurt Warner and Jake Delhomme's example are just two.
