Soccer will definitely replace American football within the next 50 years. 100% I'll bet my life on that.
Might as well get out in front of it...for once.

So we have proof that it can have its moment in the sun here.

    Lets do it.

Could you imagine the travel costs for Men’s soccer? To my knowledge there are only 4 DI teams within 7 hours of Lafayette: Houston Christian, UIW in San Antonio, SMU in Dallas, and Central Arkansas in Conway. For every other game (including conference,) you’re buying flights, meals, and hotel rooms for 28 players + coaches and support staff.

Even if it does, college soccer won’t replace it.

College soccer is mostly an afterthought. Schools don’t invest in it, people don’t attend it, nobody watches it on TV, and the nation’s top soccer athletes don’t play it. They’re already playing professionally.

Now would have been the time to make Cajun Field soccer compliant.

If they didn't move the sidelines back on the home side, it will never happen.

If they did, great. If they didn't, it reminds me of Authement keeping the Olympic pool short on purpose.

The Soccer travel budget would be much, much smaller than the basketball travel budget.

Places like Louisiana would be prime for collegiate soccer. No major professional teams at all.
