I hope coaches (any sport) don't get caught up in "who else" is recruiting this athlete.

iM sO cOnFuSeD! Geezus, what is so confusing about this? I'm not here to say whether UL should or shouldn't have signed these players. And whether you like or dislike JMV, the dude does know softball and local players, more than me and you. I went look up that player.....absolute stud. But this argument that "aLL the PeRrEnNiAl top 25 teams passed oN hEr, what's the StOrY?" Really? So that's the end all be all? You know how many great players that weren't recruited by "perennial top 25 teams"? Our rosters in every sport is filled with players that went on to be great college and pro players that weren't. I'm sure glad we did sign players like Ron Guidry and Brian Mitchell, who didn't have a laundry list of "perennial top 25" teams. I get why, but some of yall are letting your disdain for JMV cloud your common sense. If this same post had come from someone else, I don't think we'd be seeing some of this nonsense. But, fire away, I guess.
Im old enough to remember alleging kids from sTm didnt go to UL was a conspiracy theory, oh wait, still is.
So was NIL involved? Or l the press regarding coach huff. Plus creighton are jesuit blue jays, where was boomer
Sorry, but I am going to give the staff the power to recruit and sign whoever they feel is best for the program. That does not mean these players are not good, there are many reasons why good players don't get recruited to a school.
What is the political nature of your frustration. Without knowing that, we can’t really consider your argument.
This. Time will definitely tell. If both players have careers in which they become All Americans, Conference MVP's and set school and conference records, then we will be able to say that Habetz/UL missed on them if they really weren't recruited. But has anyone thought that maybe UL did offer them and that the schools that they eventually signed with just offered them more, either athletically or academically? Kids sign with schools for a myriad of reasons. I mean I look back at someone like Bailey Hemphill who was a first team All American and SEC MVP. Does anyone think that UL didn't offer her? Maybe what Alabama offered her was more than what UL was offering.
Cut to the chase, who’s kid didn’t get recruited and is butt hurt?
Well, like I said, I was seriously asking what the issue was. And it had nothing to do with JMV…I dont have any problem with him at all. I was simply asking the question, and that question being relative to where these 2 players signed.
But thanks for the lecture.
