ODU is a basketball school. They’ve only been FBS in football for 8-10 years maybe.

One day we need to tear down blackham and build a 4000-5000 seat arena for basketball. Will require alot of money so it'll most likely never happen.

These Marketing geniuses over here would never in a million years think of this but playing a game in Blackham on a Saturday night would easily draw 4000-5000 people strictly on nostalgia. Even with this joke of a coach and a bad team. It would happen. Play there as is. Still stinks, No A/C No Heat, plumbing leaks all over the place, dirty restrooms, it would be the best thing that happened to this program in the last 30 years. You want "promotion", DO IT.

They've already done that once or twice in the marlin era. Tear that building down and build new.

And they did not draw 4000 to 5000 fans. I was there for the game vs McNeese when they forgot their uniforms.

There was also a post-season game against Evansville that was nicely attended. I went to both of those blackham games and enjoyed the atmosphere. Much better than an empty Cajundome.

Exactly my point on building a smaller arena. would make for a much better atmosphere if we have only 2k there out of 4k seats. Compared to having about 6-7k empty seats

Buyouts can be structured over several years to make it manageable. It doesn't have to be large lump sum that we might not be able to afford. Do something in the interest of saving a once proud and distinguished program.
