Meanwhile, Cajuns WB will be hosting Auburn on Wednesday.
If they get the attendance they are expecting, they will have more fans in one game
than the men will all season.
UP NEXT FOR LOUISIANA
"Louisiana returns to the Cajundome on Wednesday, December 18 to host Auburn in the annual Education Game, scheduled for an 11:00 a.m. tipoff. Nearly 6,000 Acadiana-area students are expected to be in attendance for the field trip outing.
The event is open to all students in grades K-12 and admission is free. Pre-registered classrooms receive a Ragin' Cajuns t-shirt, activity pack, and a discounted meal deal that includes a hot dog, fries, and drink."
It’s the annual “education game”. Been doing this for many years.
Love the idea.
The education game is always fun plus it creates a home court advantage for every time 5,000 kids scream at every basket made.
Looking through the
2024-25
LOUISIANA WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
HISTORY AND RECORDS BOOK
No mention of an education game.
Not a single mention of or any use of the word "attendance" for any game in any year.
The only time the word attendance is used is for a Kenny Rogers concert in the Cajun Dome Promo section.
I went through every box score.
Last year the highest attended WBB game was vs Denver on 02/24/11 with 700+ in attendance.
Any examples of when these education road trip games occurred?
It’s easy to pick out. UL usually (not always) play their education game the week before Christmas on a school day. The term has been used on this site before. Actually it’s right there on the schedule. Last year it was LSUS, 1,982 attended. Started in mid 2010s.

It’s a nationwide thing. Marshall played their game Friday. Here’s a few off Google.
