I have no idea how that hire went down. Did they interview other possible candidates? Was there a national search? Or did someone just call Penny and ask him if he wanted the job?

Memphis program had the clout and the means to go out and get just about anybody they wanted. They didn't. Wasn't that crazy for Memphis was it? So by that measure, any star with endorsement deals and a shoe will make a great coach? Give ME a break. And Memphis basketball is already a national brand. We arent.
