You’ve got to bring in someone fresh to try to bring fan support back.

Simply promoting someone up from the current staff is just staleness.
Agreed, but someone needs to be the interim coach for the rest of this year, then go out and find the right coach to restore Louisiana basketball.

Curious if there is someone on staff ready to move up.
Was last night the lowest point of the program in recent years? Certainly feels like it.
I would hope right now Maggard is making a short list of potential candidates. Guys that are good assistants up and comers, been involved in today’ NIL/portal world. This train wreck isn’t going to get better this year.

There is not a desperate shunned young good coach that lied to his employer and is seen as damaged goods out there for the taking.

The new coach needs to be free to hire who he wishes. Ideally, the deck is clean of past coaches and alliances where success/failure is his and his alone.

To Coach Marlin, I wish the very best in whatever endeavors he pursues.

Cajun fans, be realistic. If 14 league teams pull together, the SBC can be a basketball league. But at the same time, it only takes a few to keep the SBC a 3 games in March league. The days of Blackham are gone. Best we can hope for are mini runs like Marty and Jessie…without the issues.

    I like this idea.

But he would have to leave his current job and be left out in the cold if it doesn’t work out.

I'd rather they just let season continue as is and get a quality, young eager coach after the season ends

Good thing about basketball it only takes a few guys getting NIL deals from the portal to get this thing going again like Mcneese did. It can be done quickly with the right coach.

The riding it out part is true but we will not get rid of Marlin unfortunately. And this is our demise...

Will people step up and support the NIL once Marlin is gone?
