I had actually emailed Scott Hebert about this* a month or so ago and here is his reply:

“We are currently in the Schematic Design phase of the project and already have a CMAR on board. If the funding falls in place we could potentially start construction as early as 2026.“

*I had specifically asked about the timeline for the east tower, not necessarily re-doing the lower bowl….but I am pretty sure they plan on doing it all at one time.

"CMAR stands for Construction Manager at Risk, a project delivery method that involves a construction manager (CM) who agrees to complete a project within a guaranteed maximum price (GMP)"

So, some GC (like JB Mouton or Lemoine) agreed/estimated they could construct w/e was in the schematic for ___ budget.

Same thing I was told a month or so ago by someone working the project.

The east side is definitely NOT a mirror of the west side. Keep in mind that one of the primary purposes of the eastside will be to house offices from the current Cox building. Similar I'm sure but definitely not a mirror of the West side.

Should be an exact replica from the outside. It would actually be more efficient and easier to plan.

Of course because that would be the most economical and smartest option we will do something different.

Not sure who ever said it would be a ‘mirror’ but that of course will not happen. A ‘mirror’ would be an exact copy of the west side, just in reverse. That certainly is not going to happen.

I do believe that it will contain as many similar design cues from the west side as possible.
