Or…stay with me now, they aren’t willing to get into an arms race when it comes to coaching salary. Marshall is a pretty big G5 brand and they feel like they can get a good coach and keep winning every 5 years.
It could be a very good philosophy to follow, risky though.
Wow. He was coach of the year and division champ his last year, also since he was a "local" his whole life, seems that woyld have added value.
Although with those being CUSA accomplishments, maybe they saw he was not sunbelt material and wouldnt be able to Rise Together
Seems they gave huff the exact same, (as doc's high end) except the bonus potential was way higher.... and the first raise/ext discussions seems to be at that same 4 year mark
Not to make light of what happened to Marshall in the past, but no program can afford a self induced immediate single season crash and burn like what just happened.
Also, no program can afford a long, slow artificially sustained ember burn out like what happened to UL basketball.
Administrations need to be cognizant on both ends of the spectrum.
