Think it’s ok to be cautiously optimistic about this. Appreciate that he wants to come in and earn the spot. Also excited about the possibilities. As for as us being his 3rd choice, LSU was his “legacy”. Then ole Mississippi had the money. Kids live and learn and I’m willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

All valid points. I'm just thinking, with all that said, that there would have at least been a few posts and some excitement about a hometown product rated as high as he was, choosing to come home and play. Almost feels like there is some resentment among local fans towards kids who leave here to go play somewheres else. Especially LSU. I don't know. I'm excited about him coming here. Hope he sets the world on fire!

I want all the local kids to stay home. With current trend we could just be a 2 year stop for them but it is never a bad thing to sign the best kids. If they leave so be it.

I think it is a plus and a big get for the Cajuns to have Walker Howard commit during the transfer portal. He can only add value to the quarterback room. I'm sure CMD will have an open spring training for all the quarterbacks here and may the best man win the position!

Howard will be fully welcomed assuming he signs here and plays. He's been at Ole Miss a couple years behind Dart, being coached by Kiffen. His football IQ will be much higher than most in the portal. Hope it works out for him and UL wins a pile of games.

I find it shocking that the transfer of Walker Howard here has been met with very tepid response. I dont understand it. Thoughts?

It might be because he's done very little since HS. I've never questioned his ability, but until I see him in action in the spring, I have no clue what to expect. I think it's great he wants to come home and play at UL, like any other athlete signed it's about expectations meeting performance.

Joe Burrow credited Jorge Munoz as a critical piece of his development. Wonder if that played a part in Walker looking to UL.
