What sucks even more is seeing all these G5s take it to P5s in bowl games and we weren't even competitive
Got our ass kicked. Doesn’t mean we’re in the basement of college football.
We were 8-1 with a healthy Ben. He went down and we went 2-3 after. Maybe there’s a reason he was QB 1. Not saying we win any games we lost, but I think we are a better team with him healthy.
The best play caller in the game can do nothing if his time machines can't create enough time for a play to develop.
Focus on the line and succeed.
Adapt or die. If we have talent, every year we will be filling portal holes. Coaches have to attack the portal and build year to year. The days of developing a squad for 4 years is gone.
Pros and cons:
Pros:
We still won 10 games. Who would have thought that would still be a thing so soon after 2021?
Renovated stadium.
Good players coming in.
Got blown out in a game sandwiched between a couple of NFL games, other sports, and a bunch of other bowl games. The pro is that no one was really paying attention and honestly how many bowl blowouts do you actually remember over the years. The obvious record you see is the overall season record and conference championships.
Rage Page is still the most entertaining place to be on game day.
Cons:
We got blown out in what could have been another statement win. At least in our camp. TCU would shrug it off like I’m trying to do.
We looked really bad in arguably the 2 biggest games of the season. There are asterisks there, though.
Losing some talent that we developed. Not all of them, but most. That hurts the “develop recruits” philosophy that positively came to a head this year.
Conclusion:
Move on, think positively on the progress from a decimated roster and coaching staff from 3 years ago. Most programs would crumble. We recovered.
