If you look at the portal at a macro level you see a sky is not falling outlook.

The average FBS portal-let per team is near 14 players......and growing. A good number are approaching or over 20. Some, like Tulane doesn't have that many (11) but are top heavy on very important positions (1st/2nd/3rd team QB all in portal). LTURd's best unit was defense, they are being gutted by portal.

Our losses? No doubt good players are included.....if there are 3 positions Des and staff can quickly replenish/reload in iit is WR, TE et RB. Over 400 players in FBS portal are these 3 positions. Over 600 with lower divisions added in. Took Des less than 48 hrs to backfill at RB.

That's really good news and the kind of stuff that will help keep us competitive and hopefully keep a fanbase. Getting new folks on board!

I thought I heard Jay say on the air a bit back that Coaches Dez, Deggs and Habetz all have the same philosophy in that regard. Use any NIL dollars available to retain, rather than recruit.
